1 scope

This regulation is applicable to the first verification, subsequent verification and in-service inspection of piston manometer (hereinafter referred to as the manometer) with free deformation in the structure form of the piston system.

This procedure does not apply to pressure gauges that do not have a loaded weight or a piston system that does not rotate.

3 overview

Manometer is a pressure measuring instrument which USES the principle of hydrostatic equilibrium to measure pressure. It is generally composed of piston system, special weights and pressure calibrators, and is usually used for the verification and calibration of pressure measuring instruments.


The lower limit of the measuring range and the upper limit of the measuring range of the pressure gauge shall be indicated by the manufacturer. The upper limit of the measuring range shall generally be 0.6mpa, 6MPa, 25MPa, 60MPa, 100MPa, 160MPa, 250MPa and 500MPa.


4. Measurement performance requirements

4.1 accuracy level

The relationship between the accuracy level, measurement range and maximum allowable error of the manometer shall conform to table 1. In the table, p is the actual measured pressure value.

4.2 effective piston area


The relationship between the maximum allowable error of the piston effective area and the manometer accuracy grade shall be in accordance with table 2.

4.3 quality of piston and its connecting parts and quality of special weights


The maximum error of the mass of the piston and its connecting parts and the mass of the special weights of the pressure gauge shall conform to the provisions in table 3.

4.4 piston perpendicularity


The perpendicularity of the piston bearing plate plane to the piston axis of the pressure gauge shall conform to the provisions in table 4.

4.8 sealing


Under the upper limit of the pressure range measured by the pressure gauge, the pressure drop value after 5min of the sealing test of the pressure gauge verifier shall not exceed 2% of the test pressure.
